De la negación a la abolición

La charla delineará la categoría de Lifelines [líneas de vida] como un concepto espacial capaz de juntar las muchas (y no todas necesariamente buenas) respuestas de protección frente a las condiciones en que humanos y no humanos vivimos. También presentará una reflexión sobre un diseño que es destituyente.

Por medio del trabajo de Michel Foucault y Carlo Galli, los conceptos de imaginación de Stefania Consigliere y de adyacencia, tomado del trabajo de Tina Camp, la charla enmarcará el rechazo, un proyecto de abilición no reparativo, como contranarrativa del proyecto de diseño visto como una prescrición del futuro.

Camillo Boano es arquitecto y urbanista. Es Senior Lecturer del Bartlett Development Planning Unit de University College London (UCL), donde dirige el MSc en Building and Urban Design Development. También es co-director del UCL Urban Laboratory.

Camillo Boano viene a Chile gracias a un proyecto liderado por Francisco Vergara, de la Universidad de Las Américas.

Architecture of Livability
From Refusal to Abolition

The talk will outline the category of Lifelines as a spatial concept able to bring together the many (and not all necessarily good) protective responses to the conditions in which we, human and non-human, live. It will also present a reflection on a design that is desituent.

Mobilizing the work of Michael Foucault and Carlo Galli, the concepts of imagination from Stefania Consigliere and adjacency, taken from the work of Tina Camp, the talk will frame refusal, a non-reparative project of abolition, as counter narrative of the design project seen as prescription a future.

Camillo Boano is an architect and urbanist. He is Senior Lecturer at The Bartlett Development Planning Unit, University College of London (UCL), where he directs the MSc in Building and Urban Design in Development. He is also co-director of the UCL Urban Laboratory.

Camillo Boano is now in Chile thanks to a project led by Francisco Vergara, from Universidad de Las Américas.
